when people say something like, "i'm sorry for your loss, "i'm sorry that you're having a bad day", etc...

.. what are you supposed to say? i never knew.

i usually said, "its ok, its not your fault" or "its ok" something like that but i think some people usually say "thank you" which seems more appropriate..

  1. Thank you... seems more appropriate because they show concern.....

  2. Just say thanks i appreciate it

  3. Just say, "Thanks for your concern.  It is appreciated".  Leave it at that, then they needn't say anything further.

  4. SITUATION 1:

"Ailee, I'm sorry for your loss..."

***Just say "thank you." It's short, sweet, and to the point.

    SITUATION 2:

"Ailee, I'm sorry that you're having a bad day..."

***Just say "thanks for understanding." It makes sense and it's polite.

    Hope this helps! =)

  5. Fine.

  6. no.

    say

"thank you, I reallly appriciate it."

"its okay" is not really the best response.

  7. I usually just tell them that I appreciate their sympathy.

  8. Saying "Thank you for the kind words," or just "Thank you" would be appropriate.

I don't know about you, but I am sooooooo sick of "I'm sorry for your loss!"  Come on people, use your own words so it sounds as though you might actually mean it!

  9. "thanks"

  10. I think all of those are the correct responses. When it is about a loss tho I barely have enough energy to say anything, especialy when my grandma passed away 2 yrs ago, I know people just dont know what to say but I got really tired of hearing it.

  11. I would thank them for caring.
