How to respond when someone knocks while you're in the bathroom or in a changing room?

I've never really known how to respond.

Should I say "occupied" or what????

Please help!!!!

Say that the room is occupied and you will be out in a few minutes.

If the door is securely locked then a person should get the idea and not bother you. If you want to say something simple, try "yea?", "someone in here", "occupied" or just cough loudly to give them the hint.

i shuffle some things to make some noise. if the knocking persists, i knock right back without saying anything. its poor etiquette to knock on an obviously occupied cubicle so responding with politeness is probably useless.

I say "nooo"...it's very effective, nobody opens. Then maybe they ask you to hurry up or if you're gonna be ready soon but they don't open.

Sometimes I just cough really loud so they can hear someone is in there, but I think saying "one second" is also good.

Yes, I'm in here, This one's taken, Can I help you, etc. Anything that is language is good. You dont' want the worker to open the changing room door on you and expose you to the other customers.

Better not to respond. Be quite & calm & relax.

If the knocking continues then,

if you are using ur home rooms. Tell its "you" in there. Coz they may fear some intruder has entered or not.

If you are using a public room just knock the door again which tells the person that the room is in use.

You mean in public or at home?

If you are saying in public pace, I'd say "Sorry, somebody is here" or "Just a minute" or "It's taken".

Well actually I think I need to scream or yell in the situation like this. Oh I mean in public place.
