How to retirve DATA?

I recently reinstalled Windows XP in my system due to some problems. I formatted only my c: Drive and the others intact. But After reinstallation i was unable to open the folder that i created which i created before reinstallation. when i click them it gives a "ACCESS DENIED" messages

its not a good idea to formatt only c: ... its always good that you format your entire hard disk and do a fresh installation ..

formatting your hard disk partially is not adivisable.. even I had  problems like this earlier and formatted the entire harddisk

I bet that the files were encrypted automatically by XP. Try dragging the files into your new drive.
