Keep your house clean.

Make sure your pipes aren't leaking and you don't have any wet / muggy / moldy areas.

Put food away, clean dishes right away.

Use borax in corners and along the baseboards of your home. You can find it at most stores, I'm pretty sure it comes in a yellow bottle or orange bottle. It looks like a fine powder.
