How to rip and burn blu-ray and hd-dvd torrent files to dvd-r?

There are a lot of Blu-ray and Hd-dvd rip movies around but i don't know how to burn them to standard dvd-r of 8.5 and 4.5 gb size? what software should I use so I can burn them to dvd-r and watch it on my dvd player?

You need a blu-ray or HD player to watch Blu-ray or HD movies. The cheapest is a Xbox or Playstation. I'd suggest going with blu-ray if you're going to, because Hi-def is dead.

You can download stuff to watch, but you need the right player to watch it. Otherwise, stick with regular DVDs.

Assuming you're getting legal downloads...

If you really want to download 25gb and then compress it to a DVD, it's really a waste of a download and the time to convert to DVD-R.  Just get the DVD version.
