  1. pump your arms as quickly as you can, the quicker you pump them, the faster you will run. Try jogging and pumping your aarms extra quick and stay the same speed.

  2. The observed tendency is to rely entirely on Glycogen stored in the liver, for short sprints. Glycogen being a hyper-oxygenated sugar which can be "burned" without breathed oxygen, as the usual source of quick energy. However, even nearing the 2/3 point of only 100 meters, there is an oxygen deficit. It is surprising how many sprinters do not know about the usually a Weightlifter's trick of "pumping up", that is to restrict the exhale mouth opening to place pressure on the lung/air interface, and literally "cram" oxygen! This can be started immediately off the blocks (or sooner), carried on throughout the whole 100 meters, and the last 1/3 of the sprint will be improved. Regards, Larry.

  3. You should go down to a local like Nike store or some other shoe store that sells running shoes, because a good pair of spikes will really help.  Also, training and stretching will help a ton, so does your start (always from blocks).  Ask a coach, they could definitely help you train.  I wish you the best of luck!

  4. What has this question got to do with horse racing?

    but anyway

practise running a big longer and get a stop watch and time your self over the 100 metres try to get a better time every time practise

practise coming off the start as fast as you can and when running move your arms as fast as you can also at the last maybe 50 metres

start going as fast as you possibly can

  5. practice and training

  6. Work on getting off the blocks quickly, the start is most important.

  7. Hey,

I had a lesson on running with a really

    good teacher.

    TIPS.

    - Move your arms in time with your pacing

so the impulsion of the swinging makes

    you go faster.

    - As you start off the blocks, slowly rise

upwards. Don't shoot up straight away

otherwise you won't get as good acceleration

from your legs. You should get to vertical at

    the first 15 metres.

    - Long but fasts paces

    - Don't slow down as you get to the finish line!

    - Wear stuff thats tight. Then you'll be more

    streamlined. = FASTER!

    Hope this helps :)

  8. long stride when running and learn the proper technique for leaving the blocks
