Okay, I play baseball and i'm not trying to brag but i'm pretty fast/faster than most others, but I have a pretty messed up running style I guess? I run like, straight up; I dont bend my legs or back[lol]; and im wondering how I can get faster or easier ways to change up how I run.

  1. Improving strength will improve running style such as getting your foot strike below center of mass. The main thing is to improve support force so you have shorter ground contact times and longer strides. Get in a leg press machine and lift the weight with both legs but hold with one leg, on ball of foot and knee slightly bent. Hold as much weight as you can for 10-30 seconds. Do 3-6 holds a few times a week.

  2. Check out www.runnersworld.com, search for proper running form. I remember them having an article about it. Good luck!

  3. Hello My name is Heather Norris I'm a Fitness Professional in Maine. Have you ever had anyone measure your stride and take a look at your biomechanics? Because these 2 things can help improve your running.

    Thanks

  4. Why do you need to change your form? Having the technically correct form will not necessarily make you faster. Michael Johnson had a very upright running style and he's the world record holder in the 200m & 400m..

Not all change is for the better.

  5. If your talking about sprinting then you need to remeber:

    1. Hips up tall and straight with upper body leaning slightly forward.

    2. Arms and legs in right angles.

    3.Shoulders down and relaxed.

    4. High knees.

This should improve your style if you keep at these things!
