  1. I would recommend to hire a coach or join a running team/club. This will not only provide you advises, it will also motivate you to continue - especially in the beginning when it is hurting and you are slow.

  2. how do i follow that answer above me ^

  3. Every 2 strides breathe. In through your nose out through your mouth. You always have to keep a steady pace that you think suits you. And last but not least,  you want to gradually increase your speed start out at a slow pace so you don't lose all of your energy. Hopefully this has helped you.

  4. Run right? okay...there are different ways to run right........

to start with BEFORE you run, must stretch.....and 3-4 hours before you run you must drink plenty of water...in the 1-2 hours before don't drink too much............

When you run.....make sure you swing your arms....if your arms aren't moving neither are your legs...and you want bigger strides...that means less effort and time covering more distance.........and put your hands straight....if you put them in a tight ball then it puts strain on your arms and hands...and you are likely to get an injury there.......

And, make sure you breathe right...... you should breathe in your nose and out your mouth as S-L-O-W-L-Y as you can......you may think that you aren't getting enough air;......but you actually are......when you are running...your mind/body is telling you to huff and puff......but your muscles need oxygen to work properly, so when you breathe slower they get more oxygen and therefore they can work properly......

And, for your head...make it look straight.....not up.....it is better to look down a bit when you run than up......for me...what i think is straight is usually a little high so i try to look at the ground...................

And, you get tired so fast....because you are probably running faster than your pace..........just sort of run in a pace that you think you could go for miles and miles in and it is your pace..............your pace is supposed to be a comfortable speed that you can enjoy but still push yourself a little bit

Good Luck and Have FUN running!

  5. many tips... first dont give up just keep running over the summer, everyday or everyother day... pace yourself! dont go so fast just to keep up with ur friends in a race cause u will get very tired because of that. stretch before u run (about a 1/2 hour) make sure u stretch ur whole body.. take long strides to use less energy. stand up straight when u run (posture is very important) drink water before and after u run pump ur arms to ur pocket to chin to make a window

    eat a good diet, sleep.

good luck && dont give up running over time u will get much better

  6. First lets clear up a misconception, as a clinic coach and leader running is not about speed.  Running is about endurance and stamina, then lastly about speed if you are looking to run for fitness and fun. So you don’t have to run fast.

When running especially when you start out go-slow and easy, you should not be breathing in gasps.  You in fact should be able to hold a conversation when running or if you are alone, sing a song.  If you can sing a song or hold a conversation your pace is just right.

Next, don’t be afraid to run/walk, many programs start with a run/walk ratio and over a period of weeks work you up to a continuous run.  Http://www.coolrunning.com offers a couch potato to 5K training schedule that can get you up and running.

Don’t be afraid to go slow, we all start somewhere.  As you get stronger and build endurance and stamina your speed will improve.  So don’t worry about speed work outs, just follow a Learn To Run program and then decide where you want to go from there.

  7. keep your arms by your waist, NOT at the sides of your chest, relax your hands, keep your back straight and look straight ahead. Most importantly don't forget to take deep breaths and exhale accordingly.
