How to save Bandwith?

Question

I just got internet for my place, but I have a limited bandwith. (25 GB per month, extra costs more but the first month doesn't count.)

I realize I need to stop downloading TV, streaming radio online, and I REALLY need to stop using youTube. But can you say other ways to save bandwith? How do I turn off pop-up or banner ads, and stop loading gigantic picture ads, etc?

Any help appreciated.

If you use Firefox, Adblock plus is amazing for block banner/picutre ads on a website.  Also, you don't necessarily have to stop using Youtube altogether, the best thing to do (for the first month at least) is to perhaps limit yourself to 1-2 videos per day and see how much bandwidth it takes up at the end of the month.
