How to save King Gyanendra and the Monarchy in Nepal? Any idea?

Monarchy is associated with Nepal's identity, history, culture and national independence. A proxy war is being fought in Nepal to get rid of this important institution and colonise Nepal as part of India. Nepal's hydropower, Himalayas and its strategic location to contain China are the motivating factors.

  1. That is a matter for the Nepalese people to decide.

  2. Well, the first thing you want to do is have Obama put all his red wagons in a circle.  Then, fill them up with sand, and with their sand shovels, build a castle to preserve the monarchy.

  3. While I am a monarchist I think it will be difficult to restore His Majesty King Gyanendra to the Throne of Nepal for the time being.  The civil war and the Palace massacre, and the King's period of direct rule soured the monarchy's popularity.  Couple that with the black-and-white thinking of the Maoists and you have no room for compromise.

I think the best situation now is for the Monarchy to go into exile for a while and wait for the Maoists to ruin everything, as they are prone to doing.  It'll be like the republican era of England.  When the Maoists are sufficiently discredited, the King shall return.

  4. King Gyanendra and the Monarchy are something that should be eradicated. I hope the Maoists make sure he never gains power again. No monarchy should rule a country in this day and age.

  5. Don't worry. We are readying a large force of mercenaries. Mark, where are you? You promised £2m...
