a product of fuel saving speacial grade magnet, design to be clipped onto the engine's fuel inlet hose. the salesmen claim that as the fuel from the inlet hose travel through the magnetic field magnet, the random fuel molecules are aligned in order to give more complete combustion. explain scientifically whether is true or not.

  1. gimmick. i think they rely on people subconciously going easier on the gas pedal to get actual mpg increases. i see no scientific basis for this.

  2. That doesn't work. You save fuel by doing one or more of the following: Carpool, take a bus or train, buy and ride a scooter motorcycle. Ride a bike. Roller skate to work. Walk.

When driving, keep speed down, going from 70 mph on highways to 55 saves a tremendous amount of money and gas, no matter the car. Do not make unnecessary trips and reevaluate what necessary really means. Basically, to work and back each day, and no more than two trips to stores per week, so plan ahead what you absolutely need. Do not drive because you are bored, exercise instead or find alternative way of getting out.

  3. You asked for a scientific explanation of the veracity of this claim so here it is. Gasoline is a liquid form of hydrocarbons. It isn't made of steel or iron, which is what is most affected by a magnet. If you have a lot of those metals in your fuel it won't run. So exactly what is that magnet able to do to the fuel? It's the same gimmick used by 'water softeners' that use nothing but magnetic fields to soften water. It can't work since there is so little metal in the water to begin with and the metals that are sometimes in water aren't steel or iron.

Gasoline is, like I said, a complex hydrocarbon chain, it's not a bunch of random molecules. If it was it wouldn't be the energy source we've relied on for over 100 years, would it? If it was truly random it wouldn't combust evenly if at all. Stay away from this scam and the HHO water power scam since both require the suspension of several physical laws and nature won't go along with that.

  4. use a bike instead of a car

  5. This is total snake oil, my friend. Do not fall for such nonsense.

  6. scam scam scam

  7. There was a similar thing years ago that you put under the hood of your car, it was supposed to align the molecules in the whole car.

You are better off putting a sponge on your accellerator, that may actually save you some fuel. Another one that will work is the vacuum gauge, install one and try and keep it as high as possible that will save you fuel also.

Keep your car tuned up and serviced that will work as well.

But stay away from these nutty/scam ideas.

  8. It's complete and utter nonsense.

Car engines already burn about 99% of the fuel that gets into the engine (and hydrocarbons tend not to be magnetic) so there's no improvement to be made there unless there is something seriously wrong with your car.

The suggestion of putting a sponge under the accelerator may actually result in increased fuel usage if you've got a manual transmission since you will lose the ability to floor it in high gear.

  9. Try it and see. I heard the same thing twenty years ago but I've never tried it . Buy a neodymium magnet and strap it on.

  10. 10.) Use your cruise control as often as possible. Not only does it help you maintain a steady speed, it allows you to slowly accelerate at the most fuel efficient possible speed when you press the “Resume” button.

9.) Put your car in neutral. If you have a car with an automatic transmission, when you are stopped, put your car in neutral to get more MPG (about 10%-30% more).

8.) Move at slower speeds. Experts claim that every mile over 60 MPG decreases your fuel economy by 1%. So by lowering your speeds to 60 to 65 MPH, you can get more than the reported miles per gallon estimates given by the manufacturer.

7.) Get better tires. Dealers install poor, low-quality tires onto newer cars because they get less road noise and provide a better ride. However, they have lower MPG and will prevent you from getting the best miles per gallon possible. To get more MPG, simply find high-quality tires. They may produce more road noise, but MPG could improve by 5-10%.

6.) Have your tires inflated properly. Similar to getting better tires, having tires inflated at the optimum pressure dramatically increases GAS mileage. The optimum pressure for most car tires is between 35 and 42 PSI, which you’ll find is more than the manufacturer’s recommendations many times. They suggest these pressures, again, to decrease road noise and improve ride quality. However, it’s preventing you from getting the best miles per gallon.

5.) Use air conditioning properly to increase MPG. At speeds below 50 MPH, roll down your windows. At speeds higher, use the air conditioning to get the best miles per gallon. The wind resistance goes against your car and makes your engine work harder at high speeds.

4.) Don’t transport heavy goods. The more weight is in your car, the harder your engine has to work to transport the weight. You’ll notice that many of the highest MPG cars are designed to be lighter than the standard economy cars.

3.) Use your brakes less. Overusing your brakes instead of letting the car naturally stop will help you get more MPG. Coasting without accelerating or braking produces the best miles per gallon.

2.) Strive to keep the engine’s RPMs as low as possible. The slower you accelerate, the more you use overdrive and the earlier you shift your gears, the less gas you’ll use.

1.) Consider a Water to Gas system. There’s new technology available that increases your miles per gallon by 15 to 25 MPG, which can push many cars into a range that even hybrids can’t get. And, it makes your car produce lower emissions than hybrids.

  11. the EPA has tested it and its a scam.
