When I was in Ireland I saw on the back of a sugar packet a phrase that I want translated. It had both the Gaelic and English but I can only remember the English.

Can anyone tell me how to say "What is weird is wonderful" in Gaelic please? Thank you!

Actually I just found this:

"An rud is annamh is íontach." would this be correct? If not, can someone please tell me the correct way to say this?

  1. "An rud is annamh is íontach" is correct. It's a proverb in Irish.

("íontach" is a dialectical spelling for "iontach" but it's correct in common speech).

Approximate pronunciation: "Un rood (as in "book") iss onnov iss eentok"

  2. An rud is annamh is iontach, yes this is correct

  3. yea this is correct

its pronounced "an rud isss annav isss eentock"
