i heard that blue is "ao" but in the bluebird in the naruto show it sais "aoi" why? list of colors in japanese plz

  1. ao and aoi is the same, it is blue.  

    ao is a noun

    aoi is a adjective.

    red - aka (noun) - akai (adj)

    yellow - kiiro (noun) - kiiroi (adj)

    brown - chairo (noun) - chairoi (adj)

    white - shiro (noun) - shiroi (adj)

    black - kuro (noun) - kuroi (adj)

    blue = ao

    blue bird = aoi tori
