How to say nicely to my violin teacher that I'm quitting?

I recently got into the highest orchestra level at school, and my parents and I were considering in switching violin teachers. I talked to my orchestra teacher, and he understands why I would want to quit my current violin teacher (sometimes it hard to understand her because English isn't her native language, and sometimes her techniques only works for her, and she's a GREAT violinst, but she doens't really know how to teach students that well.) All the moms that my mom has talked to recommends quitting my current teacher because they know who she is, and my orchestra director understands why I would quit too. He gave me another teacher name I could switch to this summer, which alot of the upper level students have her, and she is strict and a good teacher. Does anyone know how to say to my current violin teacher that I'm quitting, but in a nice, calm (white lie-ish) manner? I don't want to hurt her feelings...help?

  1. Say- Excuse me____, but I have to talk to u about something serious. Um, my schedule is getting extremely busy lately, and my mom is making me suspend my violin lessons. I m terribly sorry, but shes the boss!!

be n ice, and if u make ur mom seem like the bad guy itll go over bettr. also, by telling her youll call she'll forget all about it!!!

    ur welcome!!

  2. i agree with the guy that said your mom should do it because that would be easier on you but you could do it too.

just tell her that you want to take a break from the lessons and relax for the summer. then you make the switch during the summer and never go back to her. if she calls(she probably won't, you say that your uncle/aunt/neighbor(either one works) is now your teacher because you found it easier to go to them.

that's what i did for guitar. i told the guy that i was gonna take a break for the summer and then go back after the summer. he understood and i got a better teacher who taught better and played better.

after the summer, my old teacher called and said are you still playing? i said "yeah, sorry i never called you back but i found out my neighbor John Smith(don't use that name, just make up a random name) is a guitar teacher and it was more conveniant for my mom to drive me to his house a mile away, sorry"

it works, i used it and my friend used it on his piano teacher.

  3. I think your mom should do it.

  4. You could say that you want to pursue higher intrests? Its kinda true...

  5. just tell her that you think you would like to try a new approach to learning and experiment with some new teachers. tell her that you may be back though because you really like her(there's your white lie part) that way she won't feel bad

  6. well sit her down and say I'm quitting because of .....(something like u have to constrat on Ur exams or have something happening in the family and u have to be with the )

other than that u can just tell her I'm sure she wouldn't mind
