How to say red in french?

i know its rouge, i just dont know how to pronounce the r

and please don't answer in french, i'm new at this.

It's a gutural "r", a bit like the "ch" in the german word "ach". Or it's a bit like the spanish "j" but less gutural.

each time it's repeated three times, the first one is exaggerated, the second less, and the third as we would naturally say it in French.  :-)

Rouge, as you said. The r has to be pronounced from the throat. Try to listen to French dialogue a little bit and you should get more familiar with the accent.
