  1. Japanese is very context dependent.

    The translation depends entirely on the context, including especially your relationship with the reader of the message.

    Without that info, no one can really help you, as it will come off either too coying and overly polite, or not polite enough and insulting, possibly fighting words.

    Can  you give us much more info, including why you want to translate these particular phrases to Japanese?

    If it is part of a chat with someone on Japanese, then can you paste the rest of the chat here? Those of us that can read Japanese, and have our browsers configured for Japanese fonts will be able to tell the context from that.

  2. Not a word-for-word translation but here it goes:

    -> そう思いますか?あなたも各国からの友達がたくさんいると思いますよ。

    (sou omoimasu ka? anata mo kakukoku kara no tomodachi ga takusan iru to omoimasu yo.)

    Thank you very much for your compliment. My photo is three months old.

    -> 褒め言葉ありがとう。3ヶ月前から撮った写真です。

    As for your question, Yes, certainly, you need that person's approval.

    Asker, pls ignore the following. Thanks.

    (ok, you know who you are but if you can't answer a question right, and you see that a valid answer is there, why do you vote for "no best answer"? get a life, ok?)
