  1. Of course no repair will work while the system is under pressure, so at some point you'll need to get a service tech to recover or at least recharge the system.  While he's there he can braze the hole shut.  If it's badly kinked, it should be replaced.

  2. Replace it.

  3. jb weld....works wonders on MANY things

  4. If this an accordion type crinkled fitting, there is no repair. We are talking of 400 lb pressure potential. You need a service tech. Yeah, we get the big bucks, but you get a cool house.

  5. You won't be able to make an effective repair.  Best plan on replacing it with a copper suction line.  I've only come across a dozen or so of those type lines over the years, and it seems that most of them did leak.  Bad design.  Do yourself a favor, the only proper corrective action is to replace the entire line.

    Good luck.

  6. Better off getting a new set up....we are talking 300 psi here bud.....if you think a patch will hold up, try duck tape.

  7. You better get a service technician to check the unit and replace the damaged section of the line at the same time.  In all probablility some amount of the gas was lost, so you will need to have it checked and retored to specifications for proper operation.

  8. I don't think JB weld will hold even on the 3/4" low pressure line. If you shut it off and leave it off while the JB cures it may hold. If it starts leaking bad in the house, you will want it repaired by a qualified AC tech.

    Leaking freon displaces oxygen.
