How to search for a train?

i just booked a ticket using the IRCTC website. As i have never travelled in train before, i need to know what are the procedures at the railway station and how to locate my train and the seat/compartment in it.

why not take a look on the platform  they are little different to a bus station and stops out in the country  just big big stations like the L:ondon ones  but Victoria Coach Stn is big

  On your ticket you see a letter and number  exam,ple G34

  G is about have way down the rake of coaches   you can walk between coaches like on a bendi bus trains are easy to travel on dont worry
