Question:

How to secure bead on hemp bracelet?

My gramma brought me back this really nice jade bead from China, and I want to put it on a bracelet or a choker or something. However, the hole in it is really big... So it slides around, and I don't like that. Just wondering if anybody had any suggestions for how to secure it that won't look too ugly... I really don't want to put a smaller bead on either side of it, if anybody has any pretty knot suggestions to go on either side that'd be neat! Thanks!

  1. Use some simple macrame to build the bracelet and then add in the bead ... see these instructions for an example. http://www.rings-things.com/projects/680...  A pattern like this should highlight your bead very nicely.

  2. You can wrap it. Make sure your hemp is thin so it doesn't cover up the pretty bead. Thread it through, then bring it back around and thread it through again, several times in different directions. This will trap the bead and stop it from being able to slide.
