  1. Have you tried whereis.com?

You can type in starting point and finishing point and it will tell you total distance. This is on roads though, not sure if it will give you bike paths. It should at least give you an idea.

  2. That section of the Kedron brook trail is about 5km long (from memory) and very flat. It is hard to gauge time as I don't know how well you ride. Rough guess 10-15 minutes.(one way)

I doubt you will find distances listed anywhere. But you can get a pretty good estimation using the R.A.C.Q trip planner.

There are a lot of resorces available in Brisbane (and Queensland for that matter). It is becoming a very cycling friendly state. (Anna Bligh is a bit of a cyclist)

Here is the Government web page.

Bribane city council provides a booklet with all the maps shown on this link. You can get it at most council offices. It is pretty useful as a planning guide. You need to ride the trails carefully though as there is not many signs. You can miss turn offs quite easily.

Also have a look at BBTA (Brisbane bicycle touring Association). They hold regular rides from beginner to advanced. They are a pretty good bunch.

Bicycle Queensland are also good to get friendly with.

Welcome to the party. Don't forget to smile and wave to all the cyclists you see on the way. One could be me.
