How to select GP from the list?

I have moved in Middlesex from Hertfordshire. I need to register with new GP and i was looking on nhs GP list in my area but i coudnt decide which one to register with. How should i select one and find out the best one too?

My second question is, can i keep my hospital in Hertfordshire and GP in Middlesex?

Ask around. You can always ask to change anyway.

If you need to go to hospital you will be referred by your GP to a specialist; you can discuss it with your doctor, but wouldn't you rather be treated locally?

Ask your new neighbours who they're registered with and what they think of him/her.  What hospital you "use" is whatever is the most appropriate for your needs at the time.
