I got a Ford Laser 87. Now i would like to sell it with no Roadworthy and no registration. It still runs.

If someone would like to test drive it.....do they have to organize a permit or is it up to me??

And if they wanna buy it, are there any forms i have to fill out with the buyer?? Sorry i dont know much about cars or selling them, but would be glad to find answers here. Thanks.

  1. It depends on the state you live in. Here is California you can sell a car on a State Form "Bill of Sale" or you can make your own form. As the seller you need to advise the DMV that you are no longer financially responsible. There is a State Form for that too.

It would be a small risk to drive it down the street, although, having the tires hit the road for a second constitutes operating it on the street. So, if asked, you need to be able to tell them that you didn’t operate it on the highway/street. As far as what the buyer does with the car after the sale, that is up to him, but a car trailer would be best. As far as a permit to operate, you can get one for a day at a time.

  2. You sell it like any other car.  The buyer just cannot test drive it. And after purchase the buyer has to tow it away.

But the rest is all the same.

    good Luck...

  3. There are always 'chop shop' options that will pay at least $500 for it.  Around here they advertise in the newspaper & give an 800# and say title or not.
