  1. It is quite possible to make a decent income off eBay, but you have to know what you're doing. There are no quick and easy shortcuts, or everyone would be making a fortune on eBay. But it is easy to get started.

Ebay offers a rather complete Seller’s Tutorial that explains how to get started, what it costs, and the mechanics of using the site. You can find it here:

    http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/inde...

Determining what to sell is much more complicated than merely listing an item. You need to (1) chose a product that is in demand, (2) know your product extremely well, (3) have a source to purchase that product at a very good price, (4) know the marketplace for your product, (5) know where you can fit into that market, and (6) be able to sell your product at a competitive price on eBay, yet (7) still assure yourself of an adequate profit for your effort.

It's not easy to get started, as you can see, but if you get all the pieces to fit properly, it can be very lucrative.

  2. Do you have any particular hobbies or areas of expertise that you can turn into products?  Sometimes that is a good place to start.  You can email me directly with any information that I can use to formulate some answers for you.

  3. Hi Arreanna,

I really wish you to achieve at least some profit on eBay - and it's quite realistic, you just have to know what to sell and how to sell.

First of all - learn basic things about creating good looking listings and eBay basics. You can grab a really good 5 day video course using the first link in the recourses below and opting in for 'Fix My Auction' Video course.

I suggest starting small on eBay and then see how it works out for you. It wouldn't make sense to spend hundreds on inventory and realize a few weeks later you just are not able to sell them.

The best to start with is - selling info products like eBooks. Where to get the products? You can get free Resale Rights eBooks from the second website in the recourses below, copy them on CDs, list on eBay for around 5$ + postage or so.

A very important thing is to be FOUND on eBay, so you have to make sure the listing's title is well optimized. A great tool is under the second link - eBay title optimizing tool. Just enter your possible title and hit the 'Submit' button. Let's say, if you've decided to list an eBook "How to Make Money With Google Adsence", write in the title something like 'NEW Make MOney With AdSence eBook', hit 'Submit' and then see what the result is. In the 'Search Query' column click on the keyword you want to optimize your listing for, and then you'll see the most relevant keywords people like when searching in this category, so you want to include all the main ones in the title. This will insure your good ranking in eBay results.

So I suggest - start small, see if you can sell info products successfully, gather good amount of eBay feedback and who knows - maybe you'll start making good extra money with infor products!

Have a look at a good example of info product business on eBAy - the last link in the recources below.
