How to send an application(exe file) in an email?

I want to send an application to a friend but I want to keep the application on my pc as well. How would I do this?

  1. Depending on your E-mail client, you can just send it on most of them. Just attach it.


  2. I compress the file to a .zip or .rar format using winzip or winrar.

  3. To send an exe file via email, rename it. eg instead of file.exe call it file_exe. In the email body tell the recipient to rename it back to the original name.

  4. You will have to use a zip program. If you have winzip or some other zip application you will have to add that .exe file to the zip folder then attach that to your email.

  5. you can first disable "hide known file extensions" in  Menu:  Tools -> Folder Options-> View

    Then, rename the file1.exe to say file1.pdf or anything else.. then mail it.

    ask the recipient to reverse the process. i.e. rename the file from file1.pdf to file1.exe after downloading.
