The money transfer is very fast with citi bank remittance. . Good customer service and fast transfers. You can open a NRO account with citi and use their account for money transfers. also try with SBI, SBI has edge over others in exchange rates,even western union if u want urgently.

you can do it with any bank where you have an account. the service is called as 'wire transfer' where u need to have the account details of the receiver & the details (bank name, swift code, address) of the receiving bank in the US. Furnish those details to ur local bank here & they will process the transfer. Minimum time taken is 2-3 working days. Just check out the charges for this service as it may vary from bank to bank.

First convert your Indian Rupees to US Dollars. You should be able to send them securely via FEDEX or Certified Mail. If you cannot get US dollars in India, send the Rupees to the US, and the recipient can go to a currency exchange and get US money.
