How to send very small amount of money to US?

I have ordered two books and it cost US$27. I check with western union and it is not worth it. The sending fee is almost as high as the US$27. Is there a cheaper way?

Can credit card do it? I dont feel safe about sending credit card info via email.

DON'T SEND YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS VIA EMAIL. It's dangerous.

You can use PayPal to send the money. Registration via PayPal is very easy, and it's free. Just to let you know, PayPal has already setup an office in Singapore so it's pretty safe for you to send PayPal.

Chances are, the bookseller also have a PayPal account. Transferring money from a PayPal account to another is just a few clicks away. The process is like this:

1. Setup PayPal account

2. Send money to your seller. Since you have no PayPal funds, PayPal will extract money from your credit card and send it to the seller

3. Transaction complete

For (2), you might be charged slightly unfavorable exchange rate, probably by 2% but this is small compared to Western Union.

If your bookseller has a website which accepts credit card, then that's great. But please ensure that the page where you input your CC details has https instead of http, so that you know the page is secure.

Alternatively if all things fail, you will need to send the money via telegraphic transfer (TT) or cashier's order (CO). CO is cheaper but it takes rather long to send the CO from SG to USA. TT will cost you $20 + US$15 as cable fee.

you don't have to send your credit card info e-mail.

most sites have a credit card site either PayPal or something similar that's safe and encrypted. (look for the lock in the righthand side of your upper toolbar) you don't need acct's. Just the credit card. (or if you have moneyorders in your country, use that...)

It is safe to use your credit card online if you are purchasing through a reliable company.  Just do your research on the company before you give them your information.
