How to separate paper from laminated plastic?

  1. I agree with the previous poster, but if it was self-adhesive plastic --especially the stickier kinds-- you could try putting in the freezer a while, or conversely heating a while (low temp), or as a last resort soaking it awhile.  In any of those cases, separate them carefully and with the soaking, try to put the soaked side down on a slick surface then see if you can gradually peel the adhesive up.  I think the best bet would be heat though becuase heat often softens various adhesives and so weakens them.

    (you could also get a color photocopy of the item, then use that as your non-laminated "original")

  2. if it is the self stick laminate sheets that do not require a machine then you will not be able to separate as the glue side sticks to the paper BUT if it is a laminating pouch that goes through the machine then if you trim it to just inside the paper edges it should come off as the laminating pouch only sticks to itself not the paper.
