How to set the timing on a 1999 nissan with a3.o liter engine

pathfinder, forntier, x-terra  are adjustable but i beleve the eng.s are 3.3 liters.  warm up eng., disconnect the TPS , adjust the distributor, read timing marks (crank pully & pointer ) with a timing light connected to the #1 plug wire.

I suspect you have a maxima.  timing is not adjustable.  If it is off then it may have a CAM or CRANK Sensor problem.

Set automatically by the computer unless the sensor that determines crank position is busticated.
