How to set up a 10 channel equalizer

1. what the letters and numbers in the bottom of each channel mean?

2. which one belongs to the bass and treble and so on..

3. How to set it up to sound good with almost all kinds of music, without loosing fidelity at high volume?

  1. There really is no wrong way to set an equalizer, but I can offer some advice.

    The numbers along the bottom are the frequencies for each slide control.  Most equalizers are at zero for a given frequency when the slider is in the center position.  That is a good place to start for each slider.   The sliders to the left are lower frequncies (bass) and go higher as you move to the right.

    I usually lower the mid frequencies (1.25 khz or so) a bit when playing music at high volumes.

  2. Equalizers should be used only to compensate for problems with the performance of your components or issues in your room. The best setting for an equalizer in a playback system is disconnected from the system and turned off.
