How to set up a 20 gallon long goldfish tank?

hello im trying to set up a 20 gallon long fish tank i sold my 20 gallon tall to buy a long one but i sold my tropical fish to cause i like goldfish better i would really like to know how many goldfish can i put in the 20 gallon long also does any one have any ideas on how i should decorate it all i have is plants and a catsle and blue and green gravel im open to all answers

  1. you will also need a filter, and are your plants real or fake? Goldfish like to nip or even eat on live plants which can cause disruption in the plant's growth cycle. Remember to keep that water cold too, since goldfish won't tolerate hot waters!


  2. you can have only 1 single goldfish in a 20 gallon tank, as that's the main rule to start with

    20+ gallon for every first goldfish

    and an additional 10+ gallon for every further goldfish you want to add

    just make sure you get some decorations where he can hide in

    and definitely make sure you get at least a 30-40 gallon rated filter for your 20 gallon tank
