I am a career changer, age 32. I am going to be entering my 2nd year in the Fall which requires 35 hours per week of classwork including 2 unpaid internships. I am looking for ideas on how to get people that I know or friends of friends to help with any contributions for living and school expenses. How do I do this? Any ideas would be great. I am going into healthcare field.....

  1. At the family reunion you could pass around a hat.  Offer subsriptions to a family newsletter, garage sale, car wash, sell stuff on ebay.

  2. Have you applied for federal financial aid?  Work study? Checked out the schools financial aid department?  If you attend church, try getting the congregation involved by introducing yourself and explaining how important education is to you.  Explain the career transition you're undergoing, and why the switch.  Be honest, passionate and remember to sell yourself.  Your asking someone else to help flip the bill for your future, so make it a good presentation.

    Good Luck.
