  1. You will need some form of router, connected to your broadband connection, to allow both your desktop and laptop PCs to connect at the same time. If you get a wireless router, your laptop won't be tied to it with a cable.

You're best off asking your isp if they recommend a router (they may have instructions for it or even configure it for you).

Once you have it, connecting is easy enough for a laptop: you turn on the wireless adapter, let it find the wireless router signal and tell it to connect to it.

  2. The internet modem links the router and both computer link to router also. It's really simple. See pic for better understand.

  3. contact local isp for a wireless internet connection if you are using laptop, also you will get wireless modem from your local isp, while you start the laptop ,it will catch the net automatically........easy!!!!

you don't need any router !!!!lets make it simple!!!

you need a router if you have 2 Lans which are in different sites!!!!

  4. 1)ping the rourter's ip address

    2) login in to the router through ie by typing the routers ip in the address

    3) login by admin admin

    4) config it's local ip as the next ip u r using

that is if ur ip is 192.168.1.1

then router's ip would be 192.168.1.2

    ok

    5)save it

    6) reboot it and save it

7)then after reboot ping the local ip.

    8) try to ping the static ip

    9)see if net is working

    hope you like my answer.................................

  5. Need the following:

    Wireless router

wireless adapter for the laptop (unless it has it built in)

READ the instructions for the router and follow it to the letter.

Go to each computer and define a network in the Control Panel

Give each computer a name, a different name

    Enjoy
