pc

laptop

verizon internet (wireless DSL modem/router)

netgear wireless firewall router

netgear wireless pc card

what should i do?

  1. First of all you need to set up the router to connect to your internet connection. Connect the thing up, connect a phone line to the modem and then route that through a DSL filter (where your land line will also connect) and then that into the phone line. Connect your pc to the router via a ethernet cable. Go to your web browser and enter in the router's IP address. This is normally 192.168.1.1 although the routers documentation should list this. Here you can enter in your login information for your ISP. Once it is connected, set up a password for the wireless.

    Follow the instructions to set up your wireless card. Once done, search for your wifi router, connect to it and enter your passkey. Wall-aaa!


  2. Plug your wireless router into the internet. Put your laptop by the router and plug it in with an Ethernet cable. Put your computer wherever and connect to your wireless network. Just click on the computer icon on the bottom right of your screen.
