I am trying to find the instantaneous velocity at x=2 for the function of ;

x(t) = {2-x, xE[0,2]

.........{4-x^2, xE[2,6]

Where the curly bracket is meant to extend across both equations. And the E's are the element symbol. the dots are meaningless, just spacers.

please help me figure out how to graph these with the restricted domains. I cant figure it out for the life of me. haha its for an assignment due tomorrow :o

  1. U told that x=2 & equvetion is x(t)=2-x

       then                  v=dx/dt=2   for every x E (0,2)

                                      x(t)=4-x^2

       then

    .                 v=dx/dt=0-2x  for every x E (2,6)

    now  u make a graff & put x=2......6 then u get 5 value .
