I've just bought a new atomic board and want to know which s***w holes and angle I should set the bindings to, its a 158cm board and I'm pretty much 180cm tall, and they're basic Atomic bindings.

  1. set the inside of your bindings lined up with the outside of your shoulders. that's a pretty comfortable stance.

  2. The width should be the same as a comfortable "athletic stance" - jump up and land with your knees slightly bent - that is your natural athletic stance. Try it several times and measure it each time - that is a good starting place for the width. If your width doesn't match any holes exactly, go wider to the next hole. The front and back don't have to be the same number of holes from the center of the board, it not then use the rear holes back further from the center.

Angles are mostly personal preference, but for learning I would suggest +12 or +9 (front) / +3 or 0 (rear). The "duck" stance (like +12 / -6) is better for freestyle but I find that people have a hard time learning basic turns with both feet turned out. You can always change to duck if you want later after you know how to ride.

    Good Luck

  3. it totally depens on your board, your bindings and what feels best, never have them to narrow, you see so many beginners with really narrow stance and angles at 6 and 0 no wonder they have difficulty learning

    i'd suggest 15 -9 for angles

for the stance, stand on your board and go in to a the snowboard postion like the trying to sit down but dont want to so you got you knees bent and you a** out, now you want to have your knees over your big toes, so you bend you knees they go out and are over your toes, then just adjust from there as you ride, theres no definitive answer unfortunately its as individual as your set up

    good luck good shred
