How to setup wi-fi for ipod touch?

ok i dont own the ipod touch my cusin asked me to help him setup the wi-fi connection for his ipod touch...i dont know how to do this if you own a ipod touch please tell me what i should do? i have heard about wi-fi extenders but i dont know if my cusin needs that too.

well i have an iphone and its basically the same thing. if u mean by putting the wifi on then

1- go to the settings app

2-go to were it says wifi

then after the ur ipod will search for wifi connections and then you can pick whicherver connection u want
