How to sew without taking apart?

I'm sewing velcro patches to my motorcycle jacket but cannot take the jacket apart so I can't use a sewing machine. How do you suggest I sew the patches on as there are several and doing it by hand will take a long time.

Thanks!

  1. given your take on hand sewing, you may be able to sew it with a sewing machine. You will need solid thread and heavy duty needle. or you can take the jacket to an alterations shop. email me if you want pointers on sewing yourself.

  2. I  see hand sewing as the only way.  You might want to take this to a tailor or a dry cleaners and see if they will do it for you.  I've never had much luck hand sewing Velcro.  It usually comes off after a while.

  3. Yes hand sewing does take time. Gluing it will not hold. So you will have to sew it or take it to a tailor to sew it for you.

You will need a heavy duty needle to get through the velcro.
