How to shoot 3 point shots in basketball?

I have plenty of arm muscle and I know many kids that are very skinny that shoot great 3 point shots. I just can't get it tho If i use my form, my shot is always short by a lot. I have the proper form but I think my problem is not using my legs enough. (I work out my legs already too) How do i use my legs properly and effectively for enough strength and power make 3 point shots.

thanks for your time guys

  1. Form is always the key. You have to jump with your legs, with the same momentrum that you use to jump push the ball with your arms also use your risk to get a spin on the ball.

So its legs, then the arms then the risk. Just keep practicing be patiant you'll get it.

  2. As far as form goes, keep your feet shoulder width apart, back straight, and squat down. You should be holding the ball about waist height. You want to bring the ball UP. I know this sounds dumb, but a lot of people just hurl it OUT and the result is a crappy "bullet" shot instead of a nice arc.

As for 3's, you should really work on getting your form down first, and do it right in front of the net. Shoot 50 close range shots from directly in front of the net, be careful to put a nice high arc on each shot with plenty of spin on the ball. Once you've don 50 from here, move back a few feet and do another 50. Keep moving back until you get to 3 point range and you'll be amazed hwo natural it feels from way out there.

If you do this you should have the foundation for a nice solid shot.

  3. Bend your knees more, also try keeping your legs apart when you shoot instead of together, it helped me a lot.

  4. your strength comes from your legs. get more force from your legs and use proper form to make an accurate shot =D

  5. Keep the ball in front of your face, or a little higher, and when you jump, you probably gotta jump FORWARD, which will hopefully get the ball enough arch to make a decent shot. Remember to jump forward, even if you land past the 3 point line it'll still be a 3 point shot if you started outside the line.
