  1. Experiment with different ways of holding the stick and shooting and see which way works best for you and is the most comfortable for you.  There's also different situations for different shooting and holding methods.

  2. Everyone has their own method and placement. All I can offer is that you should follow through as far as you can. It helps make a powerful stroke.

  3. watch a lot of pool games to see the techniques

  4. There are a couple of factors that you should be aware of when hitting the cue ball.

When you line up your shot (by trying to determine how to hit the cue ball in order to make it hit another ball and have it fall in) you want to make sure that you are taking into account the direction you want the object ball to travel, how much angle is necessary to get it to go into the hole (or to bank off the rail and go into a hole), and how much speed is necessary to accomplish the shot.

You also want to make sure you have another shot (if at all possible) so you will want to make sure to take a good look at the table before you just shoot your shot, and end up buried.  You can control where the cue ball ends up by putting different amounts of spin on it - try shooting the cue ball straight down the table, but before you hit it, move your cue to the left or right a bit and when it hits the rail - you will see it deflect noticeably to the side where you put the spin on it.

You can shoot high to make the cue ball continue going forward after it hits the object ball, or low to make it stop - or even back up (good for when you are shooting straight into a pocket).  You can also shoot high-right, high-left, low right, and low left - a little or a lot (of course too much and you will miscue - and the ball won't go where you want it).

This technique is called 'english' and can make a huge difference in your shooting - besides allowing you to select where the cue ball ends up, you can also transfer spin to your object ball to make it fall in to the pocket.

  5. i generally leave it in place the leave it to start  go to english and left click on crosshairs and bring it to the top and left click on cue stick  hold it as you drag it back and then let go  softer shots  dont pull back as far.
