I'm 15 and i've been taking riding lessons for a while now. I know what i'm doing, I know how to ride and tack, groom and care for a horse. I'm very responsible, and I realize that owning your own horse takes lots of time, money and commitment. I'm ready to commit and I feel that i'm ready to take on this huge responsibility, however, my parents do not...how can I make them see how much I truly am ready and how much I truly want this? any suggestions? thank you!!

  1. wow, ok think about  it a whole horse that is a huge huge deal its not just like getting a dog, its probly impossible to convince them

  2. If you know of anyone who has horses who would be willing to let you help out with them, early mornings and things like that might prove to your parents that you really are commited. I know if my daughter got up first thing every morning to look after someone elses horse i would be convinced.

  3. what i did is i started out small, aka shareboarding. then a horse in my barn came up for sale, and my trainer had me ride him, then my dad and my sister (mom doesnt ride) and we had to rush the descision to buy him, because my dad was going to egypt for a job. try shareboarding or leasing before you get an animal of your own
