How to shrink a 7 1/2 100% cotton fitted hat?

i just bought a black and red fitted jordan hat and its a little to big is thier any way of shrinking it? Is thier any effect after shrinking it or will it damage the hat?

If it's 100% cotton, then you should be able to wash it in HOT water,  and then dry in the dryer, this usually tightens up cotton just like it would a pair of blue jeans.

maybe try stuffing the inside rim with a layer or 2 of paper or cardboard or hot glue a piece of felt to the inner rim
