How to shrink a cotton t-shirt?

my dad recently bought me a %100 cotton black t-shirt.

i wear a medium.

and its an XL.

how can i shrink it majorly?

Wash it on a boil wash but theres no guarentee it will shrink as much as you want it or maybe it will go too small. Cant you exchange it for the correct size?

bring it to a seamstress to have it taken in. washing it in cold water and drying it in the dryer will probably only get it to a L. and don't wash in hot water..that will cause alot of the black dye to come out and fade faster.

Wash & dry it in hot water, heat shrinks it.  if it does'nt shrink enough use it for a night shirt.
