Question:

How to smooth glass edges?

I have pieces of 3/4x3/4 inch cut glass that I bought to be a part of a game, so they will be handled. Some of the edges are a little rough. Is there a way I can smooth them without the glass losing it's translucency?

  1. sand them with emery cloth

  2. wet fine grit sandpaper-careful you will slice yourself fast-thought about using Plexiglas instead if its going to handled?

  3. Take a piece of fine sandpaper and tear it into long strips.  With a thumb and forefinger of each hand work the sandpaper back-and-forth across the rough edges.  Do not put the sandpaper in the palm of your hand and use a long stroke up and down the glass, this will save you a trip to the hospital and stitches.

  4. If its just the edges use some fine grit sandpaper.

  5. go to a window or glass cuter and ask them if they can my dad did that. or u can take sand paper i think. that might help i have seen it on diy i think or hgtv. u can look on there and see. at www.diynetwork.com or www.hgtv.com

    well good luck

  6. use a grinding stone ,the one you use for kitchen knives.

  7. use 120 grit wet (automotive) sand paper
