How to soften my stiff black leather jacket?

I haven't worn my leather jacket for about 3 years and it has been sitting in a cupboard during this time. Now I need to use it again as I'm back into cold climates but I noticed the jacket has become very stiff.

How do I make it soft again? Note: This jacket has goose down filling

  1. Rub it down with mink oil.

  2. Leathering soap ( I believe it is called leather soap ) will help soften it, and I have heard mink oil as well. I would say daily use? Good Luck =)
