As I launch a program, a pop-up comes out.

Title : Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library

context :

Runtime error!

Program: (my program location)

abnormal program termination

I pressed Ok, the program terminates.

Can somebody help me out? (don't tell me reinstall the program, scan my computer with antivirus or format my computer or the sorts please...) I appreciate it, thanks.

  1. It's a bug in the program; maybe a bad setting, missing file, bad registry value... it could be almost anything but it probably isn't Windows, its the program you are trying to run. You haven't really given enough information about your situation, setup, or the application to tell you more than that. The message box you see about the run time error is normal for a program crash - its just Windows' way of saying that the program has done something dumb or illegal and is being shut down, which is better than crashing your PC or nuking your hard drive.

If you want to dive in you can install Windows Debugging Tools and try to figure out exactly what is going wrong, but this is for developers or hacker and might be a bit deeper than you care to go. Is there any chance you can get support directly from whomever wrote your program?
