  1. -4 = 7x - (-1) / -8

    your statement is a bit ambiguous. I'll assume

    -4 = 7x - (-1/-8)

    -4 = 7x -  (1/8)

    multiply by 8

    -32 = 56x - 1

    56x = -32 + 1

    56x = -31

    x = -31/56

    but it could be

    -4 = [7x - (-1)] / -8

    multiply by -8

    32 = 7x - (-1)

    32 = 7x + 1

    x = 31/7

    .

  2. -4=7x-(-1)/-8

    -4=7x-1/8

    -7x=-1/8+4

    -7x=3.875

    -7/-7x=3.875/-7

    x= -31/56

  3. you do -1 which eliminates the -1. then 3 divided by seven which is 0.4285713 then that number times 8. The answer is  27.405704.
