Today I noticed a tiny snail crawling on the side of my tank...i do have live plants (java ferns) and the fish i have are neon tetras, a platie, a dwarf gourami, otos, and a dwarf frog

If I See one, does that mean there are more? and are they going to be harmful to my fish/plants

also how do I get rid of them without harming my fish/plants

  1. i dont see how they would harm anything. all they're going to do is eat the algae of the side off the tank.

  2. use a little net to catch him, and then safely release him outdoors

  3. Clown  loach

  4. I do believe that snails are supposed to help keep the tank clean.  I don`t think the snails would harm anything.  If the snails bother you, just remove them in another bowl.  There could be a possibility  that there are more snails.  Be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

  5. yeah get alot of salt

  6. Just remove them when you see them. I like them them.

  7. put SALT all over the place.........

  8. its most likley a ramshorn or a trupet snail

    the ramshorn eats plants

    the trumpets dont

  9. Never release anything into the wild thats you don't know is native to the area.

  10. They aren't harmful at all, the just eat the stuff(I forgot what it's called) on the side of the tank. You can remove them with nets or whatever.
