logx = log(1.1) ^ -5

please explain the procedure stepwise...

  1. log x = ( - 5 ) log (1.1)

    log x = (-5) (0.0414)

    log x = - 0.207

    x = 10^(- 0.207)

    x = 0.621


  2. You can directly cancel the log on both sides, we will get then,

    x = (1.1) ^ -5

    => x = 0.620921323059

    Solved.
