How to solve this wireless internet issue?

Today I bought a Zoom X6 wireless router. I configured it, and am currently downstairs in aroom, directly underneath the room in which the router is located. The signal quality is excellent. However when I move to my bedroom upstairs, a room, which is no more than 10 metres from the router i have a very low signal. Is there any way of improving this signal? Am i doing something wrong?

Thank-you

  1. Unfortunately, signals can be blocked by beams in the walls and ceilings. Even wiring and plumbing can get in the way. You can try reorienting one or both antennas, place the router on a higher piece of furniture, move the machine in the bedroom - pretty much anything to get around whatever is blocking the signal.

One fact of life is that there ARE dead zones in wireless networking.
