It's nothing to do with RAM or anything so forget that. Every time I start up my PC annoyingly just locks up and goes drrrrrrrrrrrrrrr for at least 5 minutes then just as I can open firefox bloody Panda antivirus starts updating which it does at least 3 times a day sometimes more. I dont wqnt to uninstall Panda and no I dont wanna use AVG got that? I DON'T WANNA USE AVG.

So is there anyway to deactivate updates for Panda?

  1. To deactivate do this,

click on start menu, click on run, type msconfig,

click on yes if necessary, click on startup, the list you see below are programs your machine run automatically when it starts,

look for a file that either begins with (up, update, e.t.c. sometimes panda attached to it), unmark such kind of file seen or unmark most of them related to panda.

Why your machine delays in starting up is, you might have alot of programs on your machine that needs to start up properly before you can start to use machine,

Uninstall programs you donot use ofen, keep data or files in pendrive or removable device,

perform disk clean up, click start, run, type chkdsk , this is to fix errors on your machine.

Update your antivirus regularly with antispware and perform full scan of machine.

Make sure you have enough disk space more than 2 gig depending on the total capacity.

  2. Open panda and disable auto updates.

  3. Hi : My best advice is get rid of that Panda. As it has back doors and access for hackers/crackers to get into your computer system/ or called your CPU Unit. I do have some advise for you though to help you. Go to add-remove and get rid of Panda. As I got better sites for you to use.

The sites I am giving you is FREE!!!!!! OK? One is called avast.com. This is used by the largest company in the world called IBM. Am sure you know who this company is. What avast.com does is up grades 1 time per day or more. And never allows hackers/crackers to get into your CPU / computer. And it talks to you as well. If there happens to be a virus. It will make a noise and inform you that there is a virus/trojan in your site you are at. And when you do get that trojan/virus. Send it to the chest. And your panda does not upgrade daily. Once every 2 weeks it does. This avast is better performance to help you.

#2. Another site you need to add on is called windows defenders.com. That catches another part of viruses/ trojans as well. As you need a spy ware and a spyware  together to help you catch all viruses.

Now these are all free and no charge to you. Just a tid bit but Avast is rated #1 as the best virus protector. Windows defender is rated behind avast.com. Try these sites they are free. I use them and others do as well. And we have no problems. So go for it. Good luck to you. REX

  4. Sounds like you've got a real old nail of a computer there, and with any luck  the drrrrrrrrrrrrr noise that you're getting for 5 mins each time you start the PC is a sign of imminent HDD failure. Just think, if that happened all your data would be lost in seconds. I've forgotten about the RAM as it's nothing to do with that or anything.

  5. pop along to this site and get yourself a copy of ccleaner and defraggler.

it may be that your rig is straining under the weight of junk files and registry errors.

defragler will defrag your hard drive quickly.

I would get rid of panda, cos it sounds like a system hog.

this free anti virus is recomended by the boys at PC pro mag, and it is really light and well coded, the link is below.

  6. Either find settings in Panda that can deactivate updates or go to Start>Run>msconfig

Click on the startup tab and find the programs' exe's that start running when your OS boots up. Take off all unneeded programs from starting up.
